The Center for Christian Studies at Harding Inspire

This coming week, the Center for Christian Studies will be heading to Searcy, Arkansas, for the Harding Inspire Lectureship.

First, I will be speaking on Monday, September 30, at Harding University’s Inspire in the track called “Integrative Adult Education,” which focuses on enhancing adult education in churches.  The sessions are at 1:00 pm (Knowing the Story), 2:00 pm (Living the Story), and 3:00 pm (Education for Discipleship).  I’d love to see you there and meet you.

Ideally, adult education in churches should equip Christians to progress in discipleship.  In these sessions, I examine the importance of both information and transformation in the adult education ministry, both of which are easily neglected in church classes.  The final session—which will include a panel discussion with Kevin Burr, Luke Dockery, and Todd Hall—will explore practical suggestions for leading classes that help form disciples.

Second, if you are going to be at the Harding Lectureship, stop by the CCS table in the student center and say hello.  At the table, we will be distributing a free copy of the Journal of Christian Studies to every Inspire registrant, so come by and ask for that.  You can purchase books (with no shipping charge!), including our brand new book by Lance Hawley on Proverbs, and we will be running discounts on back issues of the Journal of Christian Studies and a deal for new subscribers, as well as showing excerpts from our video library

Let’s talk about how CCS can come alongside your congregation to help equip teachers and church members with instruction and resources.
